Flo’s Flower Shop

This was a mock website design for a flower store. The inspiration for a florist came from a good friend who currently owns her own business selling flowers all year round, as well as arranging flowers for weddings all across Boston.

Project Outline

Challenge: Design a responsive website for a local store or business.

Solution: Flo’s Flowers is a website designed for purchasing and setting monthly orders on bouquets of flowers for at home and events.

The Process

Usability Study

Questions:

  • How long does it take a user to purchase a product from the site?

  • What can we learn about the steps the user takes?

  • Any pain points for the user?

  • What other ways do websites allow for purchasing products?

Final Insights

After testing out the prototypes on a select group, I found that most of the participants preferred a less busy layout that was simple to read. Secondly, they stated that adding a symbol or visual queue when an item was added to their cart would be helpful. Lastly, almost all participants agreed that they prefer when websites have profile pages to save their payment and shipping information for later use.
